Hyderabad-based private space startup Skyroot Aerospace ने 18 जुलाई 2026 को Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh से भारत का पहला privately developed orbital-class rocket Vikram-1 successfully launch किया। Vikram-1 के propellant: liquid oxygen + kerosene (first stage) और vacuum-optimised liquid engine (upper stage)। इसने LEO (Low Earth Orbit) में commercial payloads successfully deploy किए। Skyroot की पहली launch Vikram-S (sub-orbital) November 2022 में थी। India Space Policy 2023 के तहत private space में यह landmark achievement है। Skyroot को IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre) ने authorise किया।
