IAS Officer Anurag Jain Appointed as New CEO of NITI Aayog; Replaces B.V.R. Subrahmanyam

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of senior IAS officer Anurag Jain as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog on July 23, 2026, replacing B.V.R. Subrahmanyam. Jain is a 1992-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He previously served as Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), where he had a key role in overseeing the Bharatmala Pariyojana highway development programme. NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) was established on January 1, 2015 and is chaired ex-officio by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
