Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL) demonstrated the Bhargavastra counter-swarm drone system for the Indian Army in Nagpur on July 24, 2026. Named after a divine weapon of the Mahabharata era, Bhargavastra is a vehicle-mounted, multi-layered Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS). It is the world's first guided micro-missile counter-drone system, capable of detecting low-radar cross-section (LRCS) drones at 6-10 km and intercepting them at 2.5 km using guided micro-missiles and micro-rockets in hard-kill mode. EO/IR sensors enable real-time tracking. Following Pakistan's drone attacks during Operation Sindoor, India has prioritised counter-drone capabilities.
