Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Must be a Citizen of India.
Gender Status
Only Unmarried Male candidates are permitted to apply. Female candidates are NOT eligible for this specific Apprentice entry. Agniveers are barred from marrying during the entire 4-year tenure; violation results in dismissal from service.
Class 10th Criteria
Passed Matriculation with at least 50% composite/aggregate marks from a Board recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Technical Diploma Criteria
3-Year Engineering or Electrical Diploma from an AICTE-approved/recognised Polytechnic institute with at least 50% marks in the respective discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Instrumentation, Marine Engineering, etc.)
Age Limit (Batch-Specific)
NEW/CONFIRMED, was previously null: for the 01/2027 batch, candidates must be born between 01 December 2004 and 31 May 2009 (both dates inclusive). For the 02/2027 batch, candidates must be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive). Combined eligible range across both batches: 01 Dec 2004 to 31 Oct 2009. Age relaxation applies as per Government of India rules for reserved categories - but NOTE: no age relaxation is granted for Ex-Servicemen status specifically for this Agniveer enrolment.
Physical & Medical Standards
Must comply with visual, weight-to-height standards and physical capabilities specified for naval service duties. Candidates found medically unfit at the recruitment medical may appeal within 5 days at a designated Military Hospital allocated by the Indian Navy.
Service Terms
NEW: Agniveers are enrolled under the Navy Act, 1957 for a fixed period of 4 years. The Indian Navy is not obliged to retain Agniveers beyond this engagement period; only a portion of high performers may be offered continued/regular service.
Educational Qualification
- Academic Cut-off: Must have successfully passed the Matriculation (Class 10th) examination from a recognized statutory Board of School Education with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Technical Requirement: Must have completed a 3-year Diploma Course from an AICTE-recognized polytechnic institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in relevant Engineering or Electrical streams.
- Marital Status: Restricted exclusively to unmarried male citizens of India.
Age Limit
Age criteria are strict based on specific date of birth ranges (both dates inclusive). No additional age relaxations are provided beyond the specified brackets:
