About This Notification
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 notification. JTET is mandatory for appointment as Primary (Class 1–5) and Upper Primary (Class 6–8) school teacher in Jharkhand government schools.
The JTET 2026 application deadline has been extended. Eligible candidates (B.Ed / D.El.Ed / D.Ed holders) must apply online before 2 June 2026 on the official JAC website.
JTET certificate is valid for 7 years. Clearing JTET is essential before applying for any Jharkhand government teacher recruitment (JPSC / JSSC Teacher posts). Without a valid JTET certificate, you cannot be appointed as a government school teacher in Jharkhand.

- Paper 1 (Class 1–5 Teacher): Senior Secondary (12th pass) + D.El.Ed / D.Ed / B.El.Ed or 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Paper 2 (Class 6–8 Teacher): Graduation + B.Ed from a recognized institution
- Candidates appearing in final year of qualifying course are also eligible
