About This Notification
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 notification. JTET is mandatory for appointment as Primary (Class 1–5) and Upper Primary (Class 6–8) school teacher in Jharkhand government schools.
The JTET 2026 application deadline has been extended. Eligible candidates (B.Ed / D.El.Ed / D.Ed holders) must apply online before 2 June 2026 on the official JAC website.
JTET certificate is valid for 7 years. Clearing JTET is essential before applying for any Jharkhand government teacher recruitment (JPSC / JSSC Teacher posts). Without a valid JTET certificate, you cannot be appointed as a government school teacher in Jharkhand.

Step 1: Check Qualification
Paper 1: 12th pass + D.El.Ed/D.Ed. Paper 2: Graduation + B.Ed. You can apply for both papers if qualified for both.
Step 2: Apply Before 2 June
Go to jac.jharkhand.gov.in, register, fill the JTET 2026 form, select Paper 1 or Paper 2 (or both), upload documents, and pay fee.
Step 3: Prepare for JTET
Paper 1 focuses on pedagogy, language, Maths and EVS at primary level. Paper 2 has pedagogy + your subject specialisation. NCERT class 1–8 books are the base.
Step 4: Qualifying Marks
General: 60% (90/150 marks). SC/ST: 55% (82/150 marks). No negative marking — attempt all questions.
