MPESB MP Police Subedar/Sub Inspector Cadre Recruitment 2026 — 507 Posts (7 Cadres) | Apply 9–23 September

MPESB, on behalf of Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, released the Subedar/Sub Inspector Cadre Recruitment Selection Exam 2026 notification (Advt No. PHQ/2-चयन/स-1/997/26, per Police HQ letter dated 30 July 2026) for 507 indicative vacancies across seven cadres: Subedar (81), Sub Inspector Special Armed Force/SAF (69), Sub Inspector District Police Force/DEF, and four technical SI cadres -- Arms, Photo, Questioned Documents (QD), and Finger Print. This vacancy figure is explicitly described as indicative and subject to change per the recruitment rules. VACANCY COUNT NOTE: while 507 is the figure used by the majority of sources and the MPESB rulebook itself, at least two to three independent sources instead cite 504 (462 Non-Technical + 42 Technical) for the same notification -- a small but real discrepancy. Treat 507 as the primary figure, but verify the exact count from the official rulebook PDF. Online applications are open from 9 September 2026 to 23 September 2026 (closing at midnight), with a correction window until 28 September 2026, via esb.mp.gov.in. Only ONE application form is required even if eligible for multiple post cadres -- post preference is marked within the same form. Qualification varies by cadre: Subedar, SI-SAF, and SI-DEF (non-technical) require a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university; SI-Arms requires a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical university; SI-Photo, SI-QD, and SI-Finger Print (technical) require a Bachelor's degree specifically in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Age limit varies meaningfully by domicile, category, and gender: Male MP Unreserved -- 33 years; Male MP EWS -- 33 years; Female (all categories, MP domicile) -- 38 years; Male Reserved (SC/ST/OBC, MP domicile) -- 38 years; candidates from other states (all categories) -- 33 years, with no relaxation. Only male candidates may apply for the SAF cadre. Pay scale is Level 9 (Rs 36,200-1,14,800). Selected candidates serve a 3-year probation with a reduced stipend structure (70% of pay in Year 1, per a Government of MP circular dated 12 December 2019), plus DA/HRA/TA once confirmed. NPS (defined-contribution pension) applies for appointments from 1 January 2005 onwards.
