Descriptive — Essay + Precis + Comprehension
Step 1: Prepare for Paper I (Objective)
GK, Current Affairs, Reasoning, Maths — 125 questions, 250 marks, 2 hours. Focus on last 6 months current affairs.
Step 2: Prepare for Paper II (Descriptive)
Essay (80 marks), Precis Writing (60 marks), Comprehension & analysis (60 marks). Improves with regular practice.
Step 3: Physical Tests
Shortlisted candidates must pass Physical Standard Test (height, weight, chest) and Physical Efficiency Test (running, long jump, high jump).
Step 4: Personality Test
Candidates who pass PET/PST face a Personality Test/Interview conducted by UPSC Board.
