Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body that conducts recruitment examinations for Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India. IBPS recruits for posts of Probationary Officer, Management Trainee, Clerk, Specialist Officer, and RRB posts. It provides HR services to 11 nationalised banks and over 43 Regional Rural Banks.

Specialist Officer posts — IT, Law, HR, Marketing, Agriculture officers in PSBs.

Graduation + relevant specialization: Engineering degree (IT Officer), Law degree (Law Officer), MBA HR (HR Officer), Graduation + AMFI/NCFM for Marketing Officer, Agriculture/Horticulture/Allied degree (AFO). Age 20–30 years.

Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager) in Regional Rural Banks.
💰 ₹15,000 – ₹19,000/month basic (Officer Scale I in Rural Banks); Scale II ₹19,400+, Scale III ₹25,700+
Graduation in any discipline. Age 18–30 years (Officer Scale I), 21–32 years (Scale II), 21–40 years (Scale III). Proficiency in local language of the state of vacancy.

Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks.

12th Pass (Intermediate). Age 18–28 years. Must be proficient in local language of the state (spoken and read/write).

- ›Age: 20–30 years for PO/MT and SO, 20–28 years for Clerk, 18–30 years for RRB posts (General category)
- ›Education: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university
- ›Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office and internet operations required
- ›Language: Knowledge of official/local language of the state of vacancy is preferred for Clerk posts
- ›Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 yrs, OBC – 3 yrs, PwD – 10 yrs, Ex-Servicemen – 5 yrs
Selection Process
- ›For PO/MT: Stage 1 — Prelims (English 30 Qs + Reasoning 35 Qs + Quant 35 Qs | 60 min | sectional cutoff)
- ›For PO/MT: Stage 2 — Mains (Reasoning 45 + English 35 + Data Analysis 35 + GK 40 = 155 Qs + Descriptive English 2 Qs | 180+30 min)
- ›For PO/MT: Stage 3 — Interview (100 marks, must score 40% General / 35% SC/ST/OBC/PwD)
- ›For PO/MT: Final Merit = 80% Mains + 20% Interview
- ›For Clerk: Stage 1 — Prelims (English 30 + Reasoning 35 + Numerical 35 | 60 min)
- ›For Clerk: Stage 2 — Mains (GFA 50 + English 40 + Reasoning 50 + Quant 50 | 160 min) | No interview

Joining Process
- ›Step 1: Receive provisional allotment letter with assigned bank name and posting location
- ›Step 2: Report to the Regional/Zonal Office of the allotted bank with all original documents
- ›Step 3: Complete pre-joining medical examination at a bank-empanelled hospital
- ›Step 4: Submit educational certificates, caste certificate, experience/relieving letter (if applicable)
- ›Step 5: Attend induction and orientation training at the bank's Staff Training College (2–4 weeks)
- ›Step 6: On-the-job training at a branch under a senior officer for 3–6 months
- ›Step 7: Confirmation of service after probation period (1–2 years) and passing internal exams (JAIIB/CAIIB for PO promotion)
