How is in-hand salary calculated under the 7th Pay Commission?
Gross salary = Basic Pay + Dearness Allowance (DA) + House Rent Allowance (HRA) + Transport Allowance (TA). In-hand salary = Gross − NPS contribution (10% of Basic+DA) − CGHS − CGEGIS − Professional Tax (state-specific) − income tax (TDS, not included here). HRA depends on your posting city category (X/Y/Z), and DA is revised twice a year based on the All-India Consumer Price Index.
