10th (Matriculation/SSLC) pass from a recognized Board, OR ITI in a relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT, OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. Diploma/Degree in Engineering is NOT accepted in lieu of ITI/CCAA unless otherwise specified. Candidates awaiting final results should NOT apply.

18-33 years as on 01.01.2026. Date of birth window: not born earlier than 02.01.1993 (UR/EWS), 02.01.1990 (OBC-NCL), or 02.01.1988 (SC/ST, relaxation-inclusive), and not born after 01.01.2008 (all categories).

One Application Only
Only ONE application is permitted. Multiple applications (to different RRBs or the same RRB) result in rejection of ALL applications, disqualification, and debarment from future RRB/RRC examinations. Only one RRB/Railway Zone can be chosen, and this choice is final and cannot be modified later.
PwBD Eligibility Threshold
Only candidates with not less than 40% of a recognized benchmark disability (per RPwD Act 2016) are eligible for PwBD relaxation/reservation. A valid Disability Certificate and UDID must be submitted at Document Verification.

Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication happens at the exam centre. Check your Aadhaar lock/unlock status via the UIDAI website or mAadhaar app, and authenticate via rrbapply.gov.in in advance if not already done.
Step 2: Download Your Exam City Intimation Slip
Log in to the RRB DigiAlM portal (rrb.digialm.com) or your chosen RRB/RRC's website using your Registration Number and Date of Birth. Live for the 3-4 August batch; later batches see it activate roughly 9-10 days before their own date.
Step 3: ✅ Download Your e-Call Letter From 31 July
The Admit Card is confirmed for release on 31 July 2026 for the first batch. Download from rrb.indianrailways.gov.in or your RRB/RRC's website using Registration Number and Date of Birth, about 4 days before your specific CBT date.
Step 4: Prepare for the CBT
Study General Science (25 questions), Mathematics (25), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30), and General Awareness & Current Affairs (20) -- 100 questions total in 90 minutes, with 1/3 negative marking per wrong answer.
Step 5: Know the Exam-Day Restrictions
Mobile phones, smartwatches, earphones, calculators, and most personal items are banned inside the centre; cloak room facilities may not be available. Do not apply Henna on hands/feet before the exam -- it can interfere with biometric capture.
Step 6: Start PET Fitness Preparation Now
If shortlisted after CBT, you'll need to pass PET: men lift/carry 35kg for 100m in 2 min then run 1000m in 4:15; women lift/carry 20kg for 100m in 2 min then run 1000m in 5:40. Begin conditioning now rather than waiting for the shortlist.

0RRB Announces CBT Schedule for CEN 09/2025 -- 3-21 August 2026
The Railway Recruitment Boards announced the tentative CBT schedule for CEN 09/2025 (22,195 Level-1 posts) as 3-21 August 2026, to be conducted in multiple shifts. Exam City Intimation Slips and e-Call Letters will follow on a rolling basis approximately 10 and 4 days before each candidate's specific CBT date respectively.

This is a genuinely different, newer recruitment cycle from CEN 08/2024 (32,438 posts). CEN 08/2024 already completed its CBT (Nov 2025-Feb 2026) and is currently in the post-result Physical Efficiency Test stage. CEN 09/2025 candidates have not yet appeared for their CBT -- it is scheduled across 17 dates between 3-21 August 2026. 🆕 Don't Forget: Aadhaar Biometric Authentication at the Centre
Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication is performed at the exam centre before entry is permitted. Make sure your Aadhaar is unlocked in UIDAI's system before your exam day (Aadhaar can be locked/unlocked via the UIDAI website or mAadhaar app), and complete authentication via rrbapply.gov.in in advance if you haven't already. Carry your original Aadhaar card, or an e-verified Aadhaar printout, to the centre along with your e-Call Letter.
Full Selection Process
CEN 09/2025 follows the same structure as prior Group D cycles:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): single stage (Railway reserves the right to add a second stage), 100 questions, 90 minutes, 1/3 negative marking
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): qualifying only, shortlisted at up to 3x the community-wise vacancies per RRC, based on normalised CBT merit. PwBD, Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA), and Ex-Servicemen are exempt from PET (though Ex-Servicemen must still clear the written test, physical, and medical standards)
- Document Verification (DV): shortlisted at 1:1 of notified vacancies, based on CBT merit and PET qualification. Original certificates required -- no additional time given if not produced on the DV date
- Medical Examination: conducted per post-specific medical standards (A-2, A-3, B-1, or C-1) detailed in Annexure-A of the CEN. Candidates who've had LASIK/refractive surgery are ineligible for A-2/A-3 standard posts but remain eligible for B-1/C-1 posts
Selection by RRB/RRC does not itself confer a right to appointment -- final appointment is made by the respective Railway Administration after antecedent/character verification.
Special Provision for Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA)
CCAA candidates trained in Railway Establishments and holding a valid NAC from NCVT get one-third of their NCVT examination marks added toward the final merit list (the higher of CBT-only marks or CBT+weighted-NCVT marks is used). They are exempt from PET. This same CCAA weightage mechanism was the subject of the Telangana High Court case that delayed the CEN 08/2024 result -- worth being aware of if a similar dispute arises for this cycle.
