There are 21 RRBs across India, each handling recruitment for their respective Zonal Railways. For Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians (Gr.III) in various trades.

For Level 1 posts — Track Maintainer, Helper, Assistant Pointsman, Gateman and other multi-tasking posts.

Centralised Employment Notice (RPF)
Constable and Sub-Inspector posts in Railway Protection Force (RPF) and RPSF.

10th Pass for Constable, 12th Pass for Sub-Inspector. Male height ≥ 165 cm (General), Female ≥ 157 cm. Age 18–28 years (Constable), 20–28 years (SI).

Selection Process
- ›Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage 1 — General Awareness (40), Maths (30), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30) | 90 min | 1/3 negative marking
- ›Stage 2: Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage 2 — Subject-specific MCQs (90–120 questions, 90 min)
- ›Stage 3: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) — Only for ALP posts | 7 psychological test batteries | 42 min | qualifying (42 marks minimum)
- ›Stage 4: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — For Group D and certain NTPC posts
- ›Stage 5: Skill Test / Typing Test — For Station Master, Typist, Traffic Assistant
- ›Stage 6: Document Verification and Medical Examination (Railway Medical Officer)
- ›Stage 7: Final merit list and appointment by Zonal Railway

Joining Process
- ›Step 1: Receive provisional offer letter from the respective Zonal Railway (e.g. Central Railway, Northern Railway)
- ›Step 2: Report for medical examination at the Railway Hospital for fitness category (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2)
- ›Step 3: Submit all original documents — educational certificates, caste/category certificate, ID proof
- ›Step 4: Receive formal appointment order from Zonal Railway HR/Personnel Department
- ›Step 5: Attend Basic Training at Railway Training Institute / Zonal Railway Training School (30–90 days depending on post)
- ›Step 6: On-the-job training at assigned loco shed, yard, station, or section
- ›Step 7: Regular posting after successful training completion and passing of departmental tests
