Reduce Image Size in KB (Compress to 20 / 50 / 100 KB)
Phone photos are 2–5 MB; exam forms want 20–50 KB. Type the maximum KB and get a file just under it — as clear as possible at that size.

Increase or reduce photo & signature size in KB
Pick a preset for SSC, Railway, Banking, MP Patwari or Police — or type the width, height and the KB range from your notification. If your file is too small (for example a 13 KB signature when the form needs 20–50 KB), the tool increases it to the asked size; if it is too big, it compresses it below the maximum. The picture and the pixel size stay exactly as you set them.
How to reduce image size in KB
- Upload the image from your phone or computer.
- Type the minimum and maximum KB your form allows (and the width × height if it asks for one).
- Press “Make it ready” — you see the old size, the new size and a ✓ if it is inside the range.
- Download and upload it on the form.
How the compression works
The tool tries many JPEG quality levels and keeps the clearest one that stays under your maximum. It never gives you a file even 1 byte over the limit — that's the most common reason a form rejects an upload.
If the photo is so large that even the lowest quality is over the limit, the tool makes the width × height smaller step by step until it fits. If your form asks for exact pixel dimensions, untick “Keep whole image” and type them in — a smaller pixel size also gives a sharper photo at the same KB.
Tips for a clear photo at a small size
- Crop to just the face and shoulders — less background means more detail where it matters.
- A plain light background compresses much better than a busy one.
- Don't compress a screenshot of a photo; use the original from the camera.
- Need a white background first? Use the background remover, then compress here.
